| Obituary. Jerry Halterman, a former employee, passed away on November 2, 2023. Jerry attended Grossmont High School, where he was an outstanding basketball player, and in 1958 and 1959, was named a League Player of the Year. At one point, he also held the Grossmont High School high jump record. Jerry became a District employee in 1966, as a Counselor at El Capitan High School. He later worked as a Vice Principal at Chaparral, Helix and Mount Miguel High Schools. One of his former colleagues called him “one of the funniest humans around.” Jerry retired in February 2003, with 37 years of service. |
